Cycling & Mountain Biking

HAve you ever wondered just how you can electronically time your bike race? Wanting to give each rider in your criterium each individual lap time? Worried that they have to go over a mat riding 25mph? Well look no further as Big River Race Management is able to provide answers to all of these questions with our Chronotrack chip timing. So how does it work? We have two ways we can tiem your event with mats (more suitable for charity rides, mountain bike events) and without mats (best option, recommended for all cycling styles).

BikeTag
Matless

For starters our bike events feature non-invasive, non-catching and non-dragging UHF RFID timing tags, or as we like to call them, Bike Tags. These bike tags attach directly to the seat post of the bike and contain the timing chip inside of the paper thin label. The bike tags are easily visible from the side even at speeds in the 20-30mph range. Next you're probably thinking, how do we do it without mats. We still use the same technology that is in our mats except we now have side mounted antennae's (FlashPoints) that send the signal across. We can provide finish lines or split lines of up to 30' wide unobstructed with our matless system.

With Mats

With our mat system we can use either the bike tag as mentioned above or we can use a D-Tag ziptied to the handle bar. They produce the same results, just an additional style to use. The Mats (Gators) are rubberized and placed on the ground for participants to run or roll over. Our mat line is able to expand up to 56'

Both styles of our cycling timing includes:

  • Tri-Tag chip timing on neoprene straps to provide comfort to the participant
  • Least invasive timing
  • Awards and results available instantaneously as participants finish
  • Customized detailed reports
  • Race day data entry provided
  • Final Results posted onsite within 15 minutes of last finisher
  • Results posted on website same day
  • Announcer Line - Allows announcer to annouce the participants as they come across a timing point such as the finish line inlcuding custom information (age, city, gender, interesting fact, race, wave, etc.)
  • Timing Points - Captures timing data at any splits along the route (i.e. 10 mile split of a 20 mile bike)
  • Video backup of every timing point
  • Triple Backup Finish System
  • "Net" Time for participants - participants time starts as the cross the start line and stops as they cross the finish line - the most true timing of a participants performance
  • Results and awards showing both "Gun" Time and "Net" Time available
  • Entire staff provided to handle finish, timing and results - no volunteers needed
  • Live streaming of results online*
  • Onsite live results* (provides instantaneously to participants splits and comparison of overall field, gender, age group and any custom bracket per split)
  • Text message and social media updates*
  • Athlete Video* - available at any timing point
